Top Ten Music Schools Honoured By Ontario Music Society

Press Release Summary: Judy\'s Music School of Mississauga takes top honours at
annual awards banquet

Press Release Body: Last night at the 25th annual awards banquet, OMS Chairman Sean
McBride recognized and honored the top ten Music Schools in Ontario for their
dedication, achievement and excellence.

For the third year in a row, top honors went to Judy\'s Music School of Mississauga
which the Ontario Music Society rated as the most progressive, professional and
outstanding school of music in Ontario and awarded the owners yet another Excellence
award. Evaluations conducted by OMS selected Judy\'s Music School as the best of 239
Music Schools in Ontario \"because of it\'s individual attention and dedication to
it\'s students\". Amazingly, not of student from Judy\'s Music School has ever failed
their difficult RCM exam, which according to Sean McBride "is an incredible
accomplishment and a Provincial record.\"

Mohr Music of Oshawa was recognized as the most improved school of music in the
Province and the below schools also placed in the top ten

3. Riverside School of Music (Windsor)
4. Elite Music Academy (Toronto)
5. Merriam School of Music (Oakville)
6. Whitby School of Music (Whitby)
7. Avalon Music Academy (Hamilton)
8. Mohr Music (Oshawa)
9. Czapla Music Studio (Winnipeg)
10. Encore Music (Richmond)

The Ontario Music Society rates the best private schools each year based on the
quality and standards of their instruction regimen, progression of their students
who are interviewed and tested at random, and from student evaluations. Points are
awarded in each category and tallied accordingly.

McBride also beamed with news that enrollment in private music instruction is up 12%
over last year and told his audience \"Music lessons are becoming popular again and
we must all support the come back to ensure its not just a passing trend\" McBride
attributed the new interest in music instruction to \"the many talent search reality
TV shows\".

At this year\'s banquet Sean McBride also announced that he would be retiring at the
end of this year, and the OMS Board of Directors would be electing a new Chairman
next month.
